In Naples, two mischievous brothers known as "Fratelli Brutti" - The Ugly Brothers - were famous for two things: causing trouble and never missing nonna's meals. Their humble spaghetti stand became a neighbourhood legend, where their rebellious spirit met their love for good food.
Today, we bring their spirited legacy to Lisbon's Rua da Boavista. In our intimate 32-seat trattoria, vintage Italian posters and vinyl tunes set the scene, while our signature mural captures those infamous brothers with spaghetti streaming from their ears (yes, really!).
At Fratelli Brutti, we keep things simple: authentic Italian comfort food, playful atmosphere, and memories made around the table. While our soul is Italian, our heart beats Portuguese – you'll find it in our locally-sourced wines and craft beers. Welcome to our kitchen – where every meal feels like coming home to nonna's, even if you're a little bit "brutti" yourself.
"My earliest memories are filled with the aroma of my nonna's kitchen – her hands covered in flour, teaching me the secrets of proper pasta-making while Raffaella Carrà played on the radio. Today at Fratelli Brutti, we're not just serving food; we're sharing those cherished memories. Every dish carries the warmth of family recipes, best enjoyed with good company, great wine, and the soundtrack of Italy's golden era. Come as you are, eat with your hands if you want to – just like we did at nonna's table."
